It is my experience, so far, that people who stare into space often don’t see me. Thank you Jean for your thoughtful comment and lovely to meet you here.
Man spreading on trains is a big issue here but then this is the twilight zone of an airport terminal train which turns everyone into zombies! Thank you Gerard!
How good to be an invisible photographer Patti…….that gives you many opportunities! Was this last summer? I don’t see heavy coats etc. for winter now. Classic street photograph!
Perfect shot. I’ve never been able to “take” people “up” that close. Never dared, yet they are the best pictures. Like a friend of mine once said if we could change only half of the monument/landscape pictures we took over the years for people pictures (known or unknown) we’d have treasures. 🙂
Compliments.
Once upon a time I might not have dared either but life here in NY has given me the time and opportunity to do more of this. Once I discovered that people weren’t going to get out of the way for me, well, they started becoming part of the picture. Then there were, still are, the people who are more more than happy to stop and have a photo taken while others like the weary traveller in this shot is in a world of his own and is staring straight through me. My taking the shot barely caused a ripple. The worst is when you’re in the company of friends and/or family who become embarrassed on your behalf – discretion at all times is advised!
I enjoy what your friend said – I often think of street photography as landscapes with people. Thank you so much Brian for your generous compliments!
And you have not encountered any problems in making this beautiful picture?

You are so kind, thank you Jane!!

Thank you Kathy!!
His expression – that’s priceless! Well captured!
Thank you so much Indah!
great candid shot from the streets!
Most appreciated, thank you Herbert!
Did he stink up the bus with his food :>) Great shot & eye contact!!
Hey Pat, the food wasn’t that bad! As for the eye contact, I had the feeling he was looking through me, I wasn’t there . . . !
He is invading her space and not just with his knees. Hope there were no onions. Great shot.

Thank you so much Burgess! Yes, this is a spring summer shot and whatever the year it doesn’t feel so long ago. Strange isn’t it . . .
The middle finger salute. 🙂
👍🏻 it has to go somewhere!

Landscapes with people? Nice. I will keep it in mind. Have a lovely week. (Have the snow and cold receded?)
Thank you Brian and wishing you a good week! As for the snow, perhaps more today!
Oh. Make sure you cover up if you have to go out. 😉
You are so kind, thank you Brian! Cold, wet and dreary here now . . .
“Courage”. March is just around the corner. Then April. One day at a time. 😉
wonderful document again, Patti. P.S.: Küche is a German word too, translated: kitchen!
Thank you so much Frizz!
(The “kitchen” part of my online name is a long story!)
open yo’ eyes maybe you once will meet an Englishman in New York?
Very good indeed, thank you Frizz!
Patti, I saw this image either on FB or Instagram, and commented there, but had to comment again.
The expression you captured is priceless!
Thank you so much Laurie, I thought he’d look good up on the big screen!

Ha!! Modern life. Brilliant.
You are so brave. I am learning so much from you, Patti!
Captured perfectly.
…jealousy about food ??! Better get your own snack, Patti.
