It was one of those dark, dramatic sunsets for sure Brian. The title comes from the simple fact that as an immigrant living here in NY I always see America as that vast land stretching beyond the Hudson River with awe and wonder at how this crazy place works. And how can we be sure a certain POTUS doesn’t f*** it all up? There’s the doom factor!
Yes. I can see that very well. Europeans have a somewhat different view of America. A vast land indeed. And Mr Strangelove? He is scary. But I think the hounds (of Baskerville) are closing in on him… Tally-ho as you say. Or Taïaut, as we Frogs do. 😉
This is an excellent study in black and white photography and storytelling, Patti. The amazing light, the person who is looking out, the sky and the shadow and lines.
Patti, what a wonderful image – was it taken at the Whitney or a Chelsea gallery? Your reply to Brian above is interesting, and makes me think of that famous Steinberg New Yorker cover – you know the one? It’s a little bit Alice in Wonderland updated, too. You do color and black and white equally well, i.e. both very well! 😉
Ominous mood and an innocent onlooker. This image hit me right in the solar plexus (to put it politely). One of your most potent Patti. Trump and Brexit, and more – a troubling year. Chin up!
The image is great, Patti, but it is the title that struck me.
Sigh … it seems like a slow descent into darkness since last November.

We can but speculate on the thoughts of others. Thank you Gerard!
I like the shot, but it maybe the title… I get a feeling of doom?
