You Aint Seen Nasty Yet
Today’s rally outside the offices of Democratic Sen. Charles Schumer and Kristin Gillibrand, 780 Third Ave., Midtown East in an effort to push NO on further cabinet nominees DeVos (Education), Tillerson (State), and Sessions (Attorney General).
Who knew an elected official could move so swiftly on election promises?
All the Democrats can do is try and delay things but the Republicans have the votes. We need to focus on the midterm elections.
True words!
Thank you, Patti.
Thank you Pierr!
Great photos. Sometimes governments are changed by the will of the people. Keep seething with discontent and show it publicly. Revolt! The camera can be a mighty weapon.
And now we have the will of two people, Nannon and Trump, changing everything.
Awesome images Patti :). I especially love the image with the sign “If you aren’t Terrified by Trumps cabinet picks” because Steve Bannon is essentially running a shadow government. Great work.
I thought Trump was scary enough on his own. Bannon looks deranged at the best of times.
Deranged and drunk!
I know, that nose of his! And his eyes . . .
Really awesome stuff Patti. Great photos!!!!!! I now call them (the 2 Buffoons) Trunnon😂😉.
Thank you Kathy, each of them on their own are scary enough. Together? 🙀
I can imagine 😳.
…it’s all surreal…watching over our hedge here…your photography is brilliant 🙂 smiles hedy
Super surreal indeed Hedy. Thank you!
….unfathomable actually…i am in wonder…take care…your photographs are powerful…
Good luck America, please don’t screw it up for all of us! Brilliant photography as usual Patti.
Fabrizio
Many of us share your hopes, thank you Fabrizio!
What happened to Montesquieu’s checks and balance of powers? Wake up America! Go to court. On every tweet if necessary.
(Who ever heard of government by tweets?)
😦
America was built on the Law. Republicans have both houses? Challenge every move in court. It’s the only option.
(And here we are, a Frog and a Brit discussing American issues) 🙂
(It’s everybody’s problem “innit”?)
The courts are at last getting in on the action but who is he going to sack next, and when will it dawn on him that no-one, not even the President, is above the rule of law? As for those damned tweets, at least his crazy thoughts are out there in the open for all to see.
He can’t sack 200 million Americans. So the law must and will prevail. I suggest filing a case forbidding him to use Tweeter for reasons of National Security. 🙂
(Didn’t they blame Hilary for keeping her own mail?) 😉
He’s been unusually quiet these past few days, all being relative, and that’s scary as well – we’re all left thinking “what’s he planning next?” Yes, everyone was on Hillary’s back for using a private email server rather than that of the government’s. All of which I found annoying on all counts because Hillary has been around the block enough to know they’re going to drag her over the coals for anything so I can’t work out why she didn’t eliminate this possibility. Plus she and Obama, along with a load of others, all had twitter accounts but of course they were managed with far more discretion which is entirely lacking in the current subject matter. And no, he can’t sack so many Americans. Not that I know of anyway!
Let’s keep our heads high for a while. And counter every move. At worst, there are mid-term elections in two years. 🙂
I am a republican but as a retired teacher of 33 years there is no way I would approve DeVos for education. Experience as a classroom teacher and some as a school administrator and a PTA participant are a must to be qualified in my opinion.
Let’s see what happens on the De Vos count Carl. Great that you have had such valuable experience and I’m sure you were a wonderful teacher but it’s Betsy who has the dosh.
Great documentation of the rally.
Thank you Rabirius, there’s a rally almost every day now!
These are so brilliant, Patti! Great document.
Biggest thank you Richard!
awesome documentary photography as always, Patti!!
It’s beginning to feel as though I’m always at a protest these days. Thank you Alexandra!
Cool. Great to see the action.
All we can do is protest daily and let those in power know that their days in office are numbered if they do not see and hear us. In the end it will all come down to the voting booth. And I pray the accusation that the system is rigged is just another example of fake news.
Bring on the mid-terms and all the work that goes into getting results.
Keep on documenting, Patti. You are telling important stories through your lens.
You’re so sweet, thank you Jane. I’m going out to look for raindrops on roses and some whiskers on kittens.
😊bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens sound pretty good to me…
Oh yes please! Just over at yours now enjoying some of your gorgeous Napa!
Thank you!
What an era we’re in.
