Great photo, Patti. Glad to see a real woman on the beach. I hope that fin at the back of the woman in the water, isn’t a shark.
Here on Australian beaches, shark attacks are on the increase and people stay out of the sea. It’s a worry.
I think it’s a rock. The beach was closed because of bad weather and the only excitement was a family of Latinos frolicking in the waves because the weather wasn’t as bad as authorities forecast.I know this because they were happy to talk about it to a tv news camerwoman who was to the left outside my shot. Such is life!
I know I commented on this on Tumblr, but have to say once again what a great shot this is! Wings on wings, so to speak 🙂 You never cease to amaze, Patti!
As soon as a clicked on the post my immediate reaction……ah, intriguing, three subjects in the composition and why the lady is in a bikini on what looks like a rather grey day. No doubt a brave swimmer. Great capture and composition Patti. I do hope you have a great week.
This announcement winter, eternal renewal … for our enjoyment at all! Very good photo Patti.
Thank you so much Chris, I think we’re all ready for some cooler weather here. All best to you!
Great image Patti 😀 it looks like you found your way back to the classic site.
Teach me to go wandering around WP when I’m tired, dreary and should know better . . . .
Thank you so much Joe for kind words and guiding light!
Fantastic picture, Patti! I can feel that fresh air.
Lovely to hear from you Bente, thank you so much and hope you enjoyed a great summer!
Hi! Great timing on this one, Patti. I mean, who is following whom here? I hope all is well with you, and you’re having fun…
Thank you Lyn, always fun out at Coney whatever the time of year and of course hope you are on the mend.
Hug the ocean, love the day… let it all go! The action of the waves and the bird add to the movement of the entire image. Great capture, Patti.
Thank you Jane. I know it’s not the prettiest beach on the planet but yes, definitely the place for letting it all go.
My memory of Coney Island is riding the Cyclone in high school. I’ve never been the same. 😳
Hahaha, what Coney can do to a person!

The only real shark in town is running for president 😫
In the ocean, to the left of the woman’s chin. Is that a shark fin???
Seasons come and go. Such is life.

Two birds in one!
I don’t know why, but this picture reminds me the Luchino Visconti’s film Death in Venice. Even music of Mahler fits perfectly with the scene.
Thank you Marcelo for adding this soundtrack of mystical beauty to my humble shot.
Wonderful – love the visual echoes here. Lovely, tender shot, Patti.
and i love your thought of “visual echoes” here. Thank you so much Richard!
She evokes freedom, and taking deep breaths, and all that is wonderful about being outdoors and on the beach
Let’s not forget the empowering freedom of the bikini here either Laurie!
Yes! and not worrying about society’s judgement!
Yes, empowering, but…I hope it isn’t Trump. The more I look…
😂
All about the wings and the wind beneath them. Lovely; engendering smiles! Thanks Patti.
Fly high Philippa, thank you!

Takes more than a touch of cloud to get in the way of a Russian woman and her bikini in balmy Coney! Thank you James!
this has a classic touch 🙂
Thank you so much Joshi!
