Stepping away and stepping into the white space at the Whitney Museum, downtown NYC.
. . . . or what happens when you forget to change camera settings.
Love it! Lemons into lemonade…I like the effect.
Turns out it was one big juicy lemon, thank you Jane!
Yes!!!! A fantastic work of accidental art;)
Aren’t you sweet, thank you Kathy!
Well… If u say so 😂👍🏻
I say so! 🙂
One’s best work done while hardly knowing how or why it was done. The essence of creativity. Well done, Patti. Loved it.
Kind words indeed, thank you Gerard!
I love this Patti 🙂 Is that Han, LOL.
Hahahahan, thanks Joe!
wow, excellent work Patti! Great composition and high key. ‘do you see the light?! ….the band!’
No escaping the light now, danke Markus!
Bitte schön, Frau Küche!
This is beauty, pure beauty! Less is more!
Thank you so much Robert and yes to the less is more which is sometimes so easy to forget. Again, thank you!
Love accidents Patti….but once it happens you need to decide if you like it…..and if so……..do more!
Will keep you posted, thank you Burgess!
Great impact. Calm and strong at the same time.
Thank you so much Gil!
Wonderful! Aren’t mistakes the best sometimes? Into the void….
(Have a great weekend!)
Of all the shots I have taken at the new Whitney, this is the one that best describes how I feel about the place – the void of the unexpected and a thrilling sense of excitement. I know how much you enjoyed your visit there!
Thank you Lyn for your company here and hope you are enjoying a decent week.
Sometimes the mistake leads to the unexpected Piece of Art. That one your picture is the example.
Haha! Accidents can be fun 😀
And no-one ever gets hurt, thank you Sue!
Cool shot 😎
Thank you so much 🙂
You even manage to make great photos accidentally! Excellent!
So kind of you t say, thank you Angeline!
i called them happy accidents or grateful surprises when I was teaching…always love your works Patti!
Now I want to know more abut your teaching, thank you Hedy!
who knows maybe one day over some coffee or wine ☺️ have a happy day Patti!
Very cool shot! Making me #homesick
The reconciliation of being in two places at once . . . .. Happy sailing Lisa, loving your adventures!
Love it, Patti! The picture, yes, but also completely understanding the camera setting error, in fact posted one of FB just yesterday 🙂
I’m so glad to know it’s not just me.
I suspect we are in very good company, thank you Laurie for yours!
Very cool – I’m fascinated by the little details in the doorway – straining to make them out. It’s funny isn’t it, because if I could see them clearly I probably wouldn’t give them that much time.
The doorway is actually a window with a view over the Hudson, and the Westside Highway but we can ignore that for now, while the small details are part of a mounted display in front of the window. It’s a spectacular space and definitely worth a visit.
I really quite like this, Patti!! Surreal and evocative – a winning combination for me!!
Thank you Stacy, it wasn’t meant to be but . . .. . so pleased you like it!
Don’t you love it when a “mistake” turns out to be fabulous? 😉
Thank you so much Julie, I suspect that with the right settings I would have happily deleted it!
Entering into the luminous realm of art to is to try to dispel de mist of mediocrity that surrounds us.
We can but try and so happy to report the success of the new Whitney in achieving entrance into such a realm.
Absence and Presence all in One! Too Cool!
Love what you say, thank you Annie!
actually that looks cool 🙂
Thank you Joshi!
Great accident! Compliments the space of the gallery.
Thank you so much James! It took me a long time to get to the new Whitney but no time once there to fall in love with it.
You are very welcome Patti and did you go to see the Danny Lyon exhibition. I have just been reading about it . Wow!
I’m so looking forward to catching the Danny Lyon exhibition in the next few days, it looks so good doesn’t it!
Something different – but great as well.
I like how the photo dissolves in whites.
Thank you Rabirius, it really is an impressive place and space overall.
Sometimes mistakes are not mistakes, just happy accidents.
All good fun, thank you David!
nice to step into white – in the UK of BREXIT state of mind it seems to be some steps into the dark:
Where to start on the mess that this is . . . . . thank you so much Frizz and lovely to hear from you!
actually I love it… when you forget to change settings you get a surreal high-key shot 🙂
Guess I don’t need photoshop after all. Big thank you Alexandra!
Turning a negative into a positive. Great work, Patti. 🙂
Doing my best with my worst, thank you Lignum!
Beautiful Patti! I’m always forgetting to reset exposures, but mine never turn out as arty as this
