So happy to have you along here Theadora – it’s a great little bar near Times Sq where they do indeed get the beat thumping with the honky tonk. It’s also where they filmed the bar shots in the Birdman film. I keep hearing that voice . . .
Patti, one of my favourite visits to your blog this is! Thinking back, still one of my favourite photos of yours is the police line in black and white, with the photographers facing you.
Realty great photo!
Your super kind words bring back all sorts of memories, thank you Peter. Scrolling through photos online always gives me the sense of a series of yesterdays but it’s only when I look at the details that the years roar up and present themselves. The police photo you mentioned was taken 5 years ago next week but of course it only feels like 5 minutes ago. All such a funny process don’t you think?
A great photo again. She is so intend on the message. Good timing and the reflection of the bar girl, just as focussed.
Thank you so much Gerard, her focus certainly helped me with mine!
It really is amazing the quality of light for photos that a smart phone can provide Patti 😀 Great shot.
Isn’t it great Joe how the light works both ways, and of course it was a great night out with you, Terry and Rico. Looking forward to next time!
Love it Patti!
Cheers and thanks Burgess!
love the mood here – and the lighting for the composition is just perfect. thanks for sharing, Patti!
So great to hear, thank you Kris!
You rock, great mood here
Always good to roll with you Derrick!
Love the light and shadow, and that my eyes are drawn back to the bartender and bar.
Thank you so much Angeline, always fun finding the light splotches in the dark.
it’s so atmospheric, I just love the mood you’ve captured… love how you always make all details in an image significant and interesting…!!
Aren’t bars just so much fun, thank you as ever Alexandra!
Love the situation and the light. Great!
Most appreciated, thank you!
Supergreat shot! Saludos :)))

whoa – this is very unique – and has such a nice story feel.
I appreciate your enthusiasm, thank you so much!
🙂
OH. I also love, love this image, Patti. I can see her halo. So moody-bluesy. Bar? Chapel? Lovely. ~Theadora

Interesting, Patti! I loved the Birman film. It’s high time for another screening! ~T.
One reason in praise of cellphones and tablets – auto lighting. 🙂

Spooky! 🙂 good catch, Patti!

Very atmospheric, Patti. Looks like my kinda hangout.
that is a great shot 🙂
Beautiful!
Excellent.
A face without a body.
The silence of solitude.
Very “Noir”. But a good sense of shadows… (Paying more attention to shadows, now)
Fabulous chiaro-scuro, Patti!
