What a wonderful mystical mood. Dartmoor reminds me still on “The Hounds of Baskerville” by Arthur Conan-Doyle. You captured a beautiful moment and I like especially your view, the light, shadows and contrasts. So simple and so beautiful, Patti.
Dartmoor… Hmmm. Definitely sounds like home. I love the feel of the english countryside. So alike the Normand countryside where I spent all my childhood summers roaming the woods… I close my eyes and can smell the earth and the woods… 🙂
Darkmore 🙂
Hahaha, good one!
I instantly think of prison and murder when I hear of Dartmoor. I’m sure there’s more to the place though, as your photo shows.
You have a point! Dartmoor is so vast, the prison so isolated that I keep forgetting about it but it’s all a fabulous place to explore!
Brrrrrrrr….an horrific beauty….Very very very very nice…
Fantastic comment thank you Didier, I’ve never thought of horrific here!
I can’t put my finger on it but this is an image I just can’t stop staring at Patti 🙂
Thank you so much Joe and sorry it has taken so long to say so – hope you’re not still here staring! 🙂
LMAO
Thomas Hardy came to mind…for some reason. Tess perhaps??
Gorgeous. Haunting, too. Love this, Patti! I’m also finding it difficult to stop staring!!
Brilliant moody image full of beauty and foreboding.
it’s gorgeous, Patti… makes me think of “Jane Eyre” for some reason…
I can hear a horse galloping but where is the rider?

I thought the same way when I read Dartmoor…funny.
Oh, yes! (that is what I said to myself when I opened it.) This is fantastic, Patti. Love the long shadows, contrasts and the detail in the trees.
I believe I may have been on this path! Fond memories…
Magnificent photograph Patti!!!!!
Dark, but wonderful landscape.
Exciting to see the mystery, the long sweeps and starkness before the brilliant show of spring.
Waiting for characters from Dickens or Hardy to show up. Great atmosphere as he compositional lines draw you in. 🙂
GORGEOUS!!!!!
It looks like it’s straight out of an old movie. This is so beautiful!
Stunning!
Wow!! Beautiful photograph, Patti!
Gorgeous! The perspective! Light and shadow!
robert
I just love it when you turn to landscapes, Patti.

Lovely play of light and shadows!
And it changes all the time up there. Thank you Uday!
A beautiful black and white, Patti.
