Camera Crush
Cameras surround lone anti-Beyoncé protestor outside NFL headquarters in NYC. He didn’t like her half-time Super Bowl performance.

Patti this is a phenomenal image and is so crisp. This is photojournalism perfection 😀 WOW !
My grateful thanks to you Joe!
Thats a really great photo Patti. High impact shot and I LOVE this edit which is perfect!! (in my view you have a great eye for adjustments; a critical but often underestimated skill) Always a treat to look at your work! I’m a big fan!! 🙂
Peter, thank you ever so much for your kind and encouraging words. Hoping to catch up with you in London soon!
I was late to hearing about this hype – and fantastic i age you grabbed – wow does this say a thousand words!
There I thought Beyonce was some kind of political party or movement. I had to look it up. The things I miss out on. Great shot, Patti.
She is her own political movement, with a big following and now you know what you knew all along. Thank you Gerard!
Time to get on TMZ woman 😉
Dream job come true!!!
Lol no kidding
Wow! So sharp!
I love my iPhone, thank you Gaynor!
Such compressed energy in this photo. It’s crazy and captured a the right moment—and with a great composition, showing not only the action but the surroundings it takes place in.
Crazy is definitely the word thank you so much Otto for your very kind words!
perfect caption :>) on this great shot!!
Don’t you just love it when this happens – all the cameras I mean. Thank you Pat!
Yes!
Stunning. One of your best yet, Patti. Congratulations.
Thank you so much John, I might never post again!
so many cameras 😉
If you can’t beat them . . . thank you Joshi!
Very good. A perfect measure of the Boom-boom box effect: one protester, a hundred cameras…
Bon week-end ma chère.
The Anti-B people were expecting way more protestors and the Anti Anti-B’s (keeping up?) were ready for them. As were mainstream press and many students. And me. Three lone protestors turned up for their moments in front of the cameras where they seemed right at home.
Thank you Brian for weekend wishes and hope same for you!
Anti-B… I guess there is no scale in protest right? And also that there is always something happening in NY. One of the things I love about that crazy place. 🙂
Signed: the crazy Frog.
Take care
Fantastic shot, Patti! It has a wonderful air of the surreal about it – classic reportage.
Surreal sums it up! Thank you Richard.
Wow and wow. I know this has already been said (just wondering how you got the height?)
Tip toes and holding the camera at full arm stretch – after giving up on making it through that circle. Thank you Zita!
Excellent shot, Patti.
So many people, but you managed to have a center of attention (meaning the “sun-glass-girl”.).
Thank you so much Rabirius! The L U C K of the shot.
How on earth did you catch this scene?
Patti, I’d love to follow you around someday and watch you work!
It was a long stretch, thank you Laurie. Not sure that you would learn anything from me but more than happy to have a day out with you! When are you coming up???
Au contraire! Watching Patti is a master class in street photography, Laurie! And if you go up, please let me know, as I’d love to be able to be a part of your adventures 😀
Oh thank you so much Stacy, let’s make some plans!!!
Outstanding!
Thank you so much Malin!
An interesting way to achieve 15 minutes of fame. 🙂
At least this guy gave it his best for a max of about 10 minutes or so before giving it up and moving on. The next lone one to come along (featured in another post < ) wasn't letting go of his 15 minutes and more for sure!
Patti, it’s been so long since I’ve had the opportunity to spend some time on WordPress. I have a lot of catching up to do. But what a wonderful first photo for me to visit!! I feel like I’m right in the middle of the action with you. Truly, if you haven’t already, you could have sold this to the wire services! Simply stupendous, my talented friend!!
So great to see you back Stacy and thank you so much for your kind words! It’s so tough out there getting anything to the wire services when so many pros turn up to do the work they’re paid to do and competition is so stiff what with everyone having a camera. Once upon a time they had it all to themselves but then once upon a time WeeGee had it all to himself before cameras improved. Times change all the time!
A great piece of photojournalism Patti, glad to see you managed a different perspective and kept to of the hustle.
Thank you so much James, it was all good out there!
Sacrilege! She desecrated the Superbowl!
The Superbowl!
Yes! It’s THE Superbowl! The source of life itself!
I know, I know, where would civilisation be without it . . . . !
wow, a great moment that you captured here! Well done!
My grateful thanks to you Indah!
What a super duper capture Patti! You are always in that sweet spot I swear.
Great to hear, thank you so much Margie!
fantastic capture!! for a funny occasion lol…reporters outnumber the protestors decisevely…
It was one of those mornings! Thank you so much Alexandra!
I hate crowds but I’m glad you don’t. Otherwise I never would have seen this great shot. And that angle. Were you standing on something? Or just tilted the view screen? I love it!
Have to be honest Emilio but I love a good protest crowd! There was a series of small steps up from the footpath, I think I’m standing on the low one, on tip toes with arms high in the hair and the phone pointing down into the crowd. This shot is straight out of the phone. Great to hear from you Emilio and thank you for your kind words!
It’s a great shot. I never use my phone. Guess I should try occasionally.
Wow! Excellent!
Thank you so much Elena!
EXCELLENT SHOT! wow. – Was that really the the reason for that crowd?
Thank you Markus and yes, that is the reason!
