My grandparents met and used to go on dates to Coney Island in the early 40’s. We want to scatter their ashes there, hopefully sometime before the end of the year. I know it might be against the law. So if you see two men, one gray haired and one bald, acting rather suspiciously, just walk on.
How romantic of your grandparents! I wish you and your family well with the spreading of the ashes and can’t imagine it being too much of a problem although I have to say it depends on which way the wind is blowing – I’ve been caught before as an innocent bystander. Also, you have to know that if you are anywhere near NYC before the end of the year plans will be made for meeting up. Isn’t that right Joe? 🙂
I like what they did with the boardwalk. Coney has come a long way since the disaster. I remember when you were reporting on the aftermath, and effort to build anew. I still think about how solid your coverage was, Patti; like when you covered Occupy Wall Street.
Thank you Allan, they have done a good job out there and it’s always great fun wandering around in the crowds – or being out there without the crowd! Also thank you so much for your kind words about the old days and OWS – what a time that was!
I love this image Patti 🙂
Thank you kindly Joe!
Great photo. The boy seems to levitate or did he have wheels under his shoes?
I like your thought of the boy levitating!

Aw, so sweet. Lovely capture, Patti!
Thank you so much Richard!
Wonderful summer feel to this photo Patti!
So different to winter . . . . thank you Elina!
Interesting way to process the photo and convey the feeling of heat – it works!
Thank you Lyn, this was taken and processed in the phone.

You captured the mood very well Patti!
Thank you so much Indah!
A wonderful picture, Patti. I’ve heard so much about the place, but never been there.
That’s so sweet of you to say, thank you Shimon. It’s one of those iconic places!
Looks like a nice sumemr day.
Beautiful light, Patti. Coney Island….memories of riding the Cyclone there in high school. Terrifying!
Cool image too:)
