Some random shots from the Lower East Side, down around fabulous Delancey St before it becomes the Williamsburg Bridge.
Anyone else thinking Lorie and Dan were made for each other?
I think its destiny that Lorie and Dan met this way 🙂 Great shots Patti I love the gritty looks. I was wondering how Bed, Bath and Beyond feel about the shopping cart, LOL.
Another good series from you Patti, thanks. I like “walking the dog” because of the contrast among the various things, the cart, people going away, the advertising in the background and the dog, wow, well seen! Mother child and bridge is a simple urban scene where instead of the sky we see the bridge and then that tree with shadows and a videocamera (surveillance I guess) is also a photo which let us think a little, there is poetry in it and something more “disturbing?” almost hidden…Thanks again for such a series

Hey, that’s the city I remember! Wonderfully and wittily observed (as always). I love the fact that Dan and Lorie are still looking for answers in print on poles…
A bit grim but part of any city. I hope Dan Perino met someone. Gees, a bit up front. His face framed by two large love-hearts. It is all so tenuous and fickle.
I feel bad Gerard because I didn’t think it was that grim, and the sun was shining! As for Dan, that could be a love story in the making and coming to a cinema near you one day soon!
Patti, I deleted the post so I will answer here. I am just testing other blog network because I want to see if I could reach more people with the same effort that I put here in wordpress. I can hardly get 40 likes for a picture after a year of bloging. I tried Tumblr last year… Maybe I should give another try. Blogger is fully integrated with Google+, this is why I wanna try it.
Good luck with it all Mario. I started years ago with Blogger but found it all too much of a bother and all of it going nowhere fast. All the clicky business of getting likes etc is one thing but really, it’s the quality of the work that counts. Your photos are so good and very much appreciated by those lucky enough to have found you. There’s a huge community of photographers over on Tumblr and I know of others who use Facebook, and Instagram, to drive the blog car but I always wonder how many new people you pick up on the way. Personally, I am lazy and don’t have that energy!
WOW … Delaney Street. My dad used to take us there. Oh, the stories I could tell. The first one is missing an important element. The sleeping homeless who shocked me, as a child, when I would see them. It must have been very cold out. Sad memories …!!!
Very nice montage of the grudge side of nyc. 😒

Ha Ha Joe, this really does put the beyond well and truly into the bed and bath. And Lorie and Dan, they just can’t fight this destiny!
Awesome as always!

Authentic street potography here, Patti. And Lorie and Dan? It’s just a matter of time.
Thank you Angeline, I wonder if L & D have met yet!
I really love your work, Patti!
That’s so kind of you to say Malin, big thank you!!
My pleasure, Patti’
Fine set, Patti; Last shot is well spotted 🙂
Dan is becoming a little difficult to avoid now, thank you Harrie!
Looking for a girlfriend! 😉 Otherwise I am glad I don’t live in a big city. Good documentation Patti.
But Bente, so many opportunities in a big city!!!
i love the way you can colour the city!
The city is full of it, thank you so much Inge!
first photo is my favorite, very stylish! perfect “visual blues”
I love your “visual blues” description Frizz and thank you so much for the tweet!
I love the intimate view you provide of your city. So far from the standard pictures people expect to see from the Big Apple.
An eclectic blend of shots and moods. I love that first one – so many shades of brown!
Quintessential Lower East Side. Love the dog.
Interesting city views…:)
What a blend: humanity amid gnarly mortar and metal.
Again, a great collection of impressions of the big city.
Ah, New York…
These are so good! So atmospheric and full of narrative.

Such an interesting cross section of daily life. You should have called Dan, saying you were Lorie. Wonderful shots, Patti.
I’d think of maybe calling from a pay phone, for research purposes only, otherwise I wouldn’t want my mobile number anywhere near a re-call!
Definitely not photos for the tourist brochure – Life on the breadline 😦 A great collection of ‘social commentary’ images Patti 🙂
Those tourist brochures look exhausting – the lights, the hype, the glitter, and then there’s the reality!
Another superb post Patti with great photos and interest!
Thank you Peter, it’s such a fun city to explore and so pleased you enjoyed the views!
Fantastic series of shots !!
Thank you so much Carlos!
lol last one is the best 😉
Dan sure is out there!
Great street photography series! Gosh, there were lots of garbage on the street!
I’d like to think winter’s not helping (snow, ice etc) with the garbage but yes, there is enough of it about . . . Thank you Indah.
The real everyday life told with irony and a touch of sadness.
Everyday life stretches the seams . . .
great photos.
Thank you kindly Julia!
Fantastic, thank you so much Jake!
Nice series! And I hope that man finds a girlfriend!
Dan is certainly giving it his best shot, thank you Pamela!

You are right… I always come back to WordPress because I can’t get away from beautiful people like you. ❤
But Dan’s only giving it three tries… 🙂
Three tries maybe Lyn but further meanderings and it doesn’t take much to realize Dan has downtown well and truly covered. He’s all over the place!
Fabulous NYC lifeblood images. I especially love the first-wonderful!
