Care to take a winter's walk through gently falling snow in Central Park? Let's go!
Returning later in the afternoon with blue sky and sunshine over the frozen ground below . . .
Wishing you all a wonderful week-end!
Wonderful shots, Patti. This year we had quite a warm winter in Berlin, Germany. It’s crazy, but currently it feels more like the beginning of spring than the regularly cold winter days and I just LOVE it!
Have a great weekend!
Thank you Anette. I am seeing spring shots here and there and I have to tell you they look so foreign and far away! Looking forward to seeing your spring shots. Meanwhile, enjoy the warmer weather!
Central Park is beautiful in every season and your images are wonderful Patti 🙂 I just got finished viewing them now I have to put a sweatshirt on, brrrr 🙂
So true what you say about Central Park Joe, can you imagine NYC without it? Come spring and the ducks will be back in the pond. Everything ok out your way I hope!
That’s great to hear, thank you so much Allan. Perhaps strange to admit but I always enjoy how much the bare winter branches pull the city into the park.
Making hay while the sun shines, whatever the weather, thank you Julie!
(Although where they put all the kit – sleds, skates, you name it, always puzzles me. It’s not as though NYC apartments come with basements, attics and garages!)
How lovely to join you on a walk in Central Park. 🙂 Wonderful photos Patti, I see people are enjoying the weather… jogging, sledging, skating, playing ice hockey and taking photos. 🙂 The trees look so beautiful with some snow on them. I have to agree with Joe, Central Park is beautiful in every season.
Yesterday night I saw in the news a report about “New York on the rocks”. Your photo set celebrate the joy of winter even I know it is really cold on your side. Photo Nr. 3 is my personal highlight. It is georgous. The snow covered trees and branches. What a view! Take care and keep you warm.
Have a wonderful winter weekend
Stefan
As you can see Stefan we are such a long way away from shoots of spring, the ice just keeps flowing! Thank you so much for your kind words and warm thoughts and all best to you in lovely Hamburg!
I’ve been thinking of you a lot lately, Patti. We call family back east (Port Washington, Boston) and they are almost speechless at this point. I look forward to your perspective, and I know it’s cruel, cruel, cruel, but I’m glad I’m removed from it, getting the visuals without the biting cold on my face, looking out the window here, knowing I can go out and not freeze my whatever off. I’ve become a wimp! But I count on you to show the beauty, and I know there is great beauty and interest in New York these days. I think my fave is the first one of people walking in the park.
I couldn’t believe your beautiful spring blossoms Lyn, such winter tonics!! You seem to be very much at home where you are now and I am so grateful, and in awe, of the beauty you share from wherever you happen to be.
As for the cold here in NYC I dare not complain when I think about all that Bostonians are having to put up with, and it’s not getting better anytime soon either . . . . hope all more than ok with your family there.
Hi Patti, love #5 and the last one. Our weather in Toronto is similar to yours and I’m just about done with winter. I’m not a winter photographer so I tend to hibernate for 3-4 months. I love to see photos from those that brave the cold so I look forward to seeing your posts.
Thanks for the walk around the Central Park Patti. My dad spent a lot of time in NYC and used to talk about it. I’m with a lot of the comments above on number 5. Really interesting photo as are they all!
These are all gorgeous and I love seeing you in colour. Photo #3 stands out for me – the way snowy branches draw me in deeper and deeper into the shot – lovely!
Wonderful – loved the subdued hues. Also, the snow really brings out the contorted limbs in such contrast with the rigid architecture in the background. Great set.
Love your blog. These photos are fabulous…my sis is in NYC and is ALWAYS talking about the cold (especially because we are from Texas….where it doesn’t get QUITE as cold!) 🙂
Nice!
Here it is raining …..
Kind regards,
Hope the rain stops soon, thank you Rob!
How lovely! Have a great weekend, Patti!
Thank you Richard and wishing you fun in London!
This looks really good after a day with continuous rain.
So much harder getting out and about in the rain . . . 😦
Thanks for the walk and now for a latte (medium) and a croissant.
The simple pleasures, thank you Gerard!

It’s crazy how the weather changes… I hope you don’t mind but I d/led one of the pix to use as my desktop. Merci!
Amazing what you get used to . . . thank you gh0stpupp3t. As for the download, you are welcome and, just out of curiosity, which one did you choose?

So beautiful…but I have a feeling you East Coasters are ready to be done with the colour white…and the cold cold temps!
Great photographs Patti………making us very envious!
Off to the beach with you Burgess!
Thanks. Central Park is truly a gem. Makes me miss the snow – a little.
Thank you Bumba, not sure how much I would miss snow if I had to shovel a driveway just to get anywhere!
1, 2 and especially 5 are fantastic shots. 5 really conveys an excellent sense of scale and dimensional depth.
That’s great to hear, thank you so much Allan. Perhaps strange to admit but I always enjoy how much the bare winter branches pull the city into the park.
Beautiful shots, Patti. I love to see people outside enjoying the winter.
Making hay while the sun shines, whatever the weather, thank you Julie!

Thanks for sharing!
My pleasure, thank you Herbert!
The place takes on a different character in the snow. Quite a beautiful sight, Patti.
The changing faces of Central Park, thank you Lignum!

Thank you so much Elina, I can imagine how much fun you would have here with your family!
I really hope we’ll get a chance to come to NY one day. 🙂

Nothing worse than weather drearies but hibernating sounds so luxurious. Hope it clears for you soon Mark and thank you so much for your kind words!

Thank you so much Peter, some entertaining stories from your father I’m sure! Do you know NY at all?
Oh, the memory of childhood snowy days….blissful!
Here’s to warm memories Annie!
What an invigorating winter walk. So good to see Central Park and its beauty.
You would love it Angeline, so much to explore – even if I do tread the old familiar paths . . . .
Just did it today and no fun at all, but it is worth it for the photos as you pictures show.
I thought you were still having fun in the NZ sun DW! It was a dirty day out there yesterday . . .
Blue skies, and people having fun in the snow —
How charming, and how distant!
Oh Judith, you must be so sick of all the snow you are getting up there . . . hope you get blue sky soon!
These are all gorgeous and I love seeing you in colour. Photo #3 stands out for me – the way snowy branches draw me in deeper and deeper into the shot – lovely!

hi Patti,
maybe you like walking with headphones
– and the vocals of Barbara Parker:
So good – just love no.5 particularly – it seems like the lampost is holding up the whole range of buildings! Would love this one on my wall.
Love these, especially the fourth and the fifth one.
so much snow 🙂
And more coming down now . . . . thank you Joshi!
Ah, looks beautiful.
The sculptural barren branches in ‘The Mall’ …stunning!
