So the big blizzard of 2015 was a bit of a fizzle, at least here in NYC, but in the hours of expectation and anticipation of the coming Snowmageddon there was time to go out and chase some snowflakes, stock up on bread, milk and candles. Which is when I met free-wheeling Lawrence and Fred who weren't letting a little snow get in their way. Fred's hoping to move up to a hotter set of wheels one day.
How great is this, they sure look like they’re having fun! I guess we got all your snow!
Thank you Susan, thinking of up there and hope you are all in good form. Looking forward to seeing your views!
Wonderful, Patti! Spreading cheer in the middle of winter.
You are too kind, than you so much Pierr!
Yes, keep the candles handy. We have a small generator, just in case! Used it a couple of times when the grid was down. Lovely snow and the anticipation of a killer storm loomimg must have kept many awake.
Not sure that it kept too many awake Gerard, the anticipation was exhausting!
Wow, all I can think seeing these — challenging to say the least to be in a wheelchair when it snows. Great photos.
Some people climb mountains, some people look at molehills, or something along those lines! Thank you so much Julia!
looks like everyone’s having fun
Always good to get out and mingle!
Excellent.
Thank you Rabirius! 🙂
kids a heart :>}
It never hurts!
so lively and fun 🙂
Thank you Joshi 🙂
Fine set, Patti!
Thank you kind Harrie!
Up here the Railway company is still frigtened for a coming blizzard.
No winter yet.
Nice pictures!
Kind regards,
Your winter has been a long time coming . . . Hope all remains settled and calm where you are, thank you Rob.
The world was still and waited for the snow that would paralyze NY.
but then not much happened. But some had fun anyway. 🙂 Nice picture in the snow.
Thank you Antonia! While the heavy snow missed NYC it did cause huge damage further up the line in Massachusetts and very heavy snow fell out in Long Island . . . 😦
That is way to little snow for a Norwegian, but interesting to see. And good documentary as always.
I know, I know Bente, this is way too little snow for any self-respecting blizzard!
Love the joyful life in spite of everything else which appears in your pictures Patti. And as photographer you always manage to get a close contact with your subject. Well done.
robert
Thank you so much for your most generous comment Robert, we are all of us in this world together!
Ah, the excitement of disaster preparation. 😀
And still no batteries for the flashlights! Next time . . .
These are great shots Patti and thats the first time I have ever seen a wheel standing handicapped cart. Poor Fred 🙂
A first time for everything Joe! 🙂
Nice set Patti!!
Thank you so much Peter, and so enjoyed your recent night shots through London!
Egads, now you are bringing Snowmaggedon here where practically every day in the winter is Snowmaggedon. (That’s right I am Canadian. lol)
The snowmageddon, after all the harsh warnings, didn’t happen down here, but found its true path instead to happier hunting grounds up your way!
That looks like fun 🙂 We’re expecting a sprinkling of snow overnight but I’ll believe it when I see it.
I heard it was snowing in Clapham today!
Sadly it never settled – we’re just going to have a couple of mills fo frost tonight… Still, that could be good for photos 🙂
Great shots of the streets and what it’s like with some snow ..I wouldn’t know 🙂
I always love your people shots. I would love to see you in action, approaching people for the photos and getting the connection that always shows in the photo.
Amazing what you get used to, what with snowy streets etc. As for me in action, I’m not sure what to say – it’s complicated, but I thank you so much Angeline for your kind words!
Brilliant – beautiful captures of Lawrence and Fred and that last shot is so superb!
Thank you so much Richard, it was great fun meeting Lawrence and Fred!
I love people who try to make the most of every situation.
Thoroughly agree with you, thank you Marcelo!
“Snowmageddon”, I like that!
It also wasn’t as brutal in Southern Ontario as expected.
A Mayor’s place is always in the wrong when it comes to snow and bad weather. Pleased all ok for you up there Allan!
Wow! Never seen a wheelie from a wheelchair before! Looks like they are very positive people…
You have seen it now, thank you so much Sue!
I’m glad Snowmageddon failed to appear. These are truly happy spirits, Patti. I hope Fred gets his dream wheels some day.
Thank you Paula and so pleased you enjoyed the good spirits!
This is great! Love your description of the the winter storm that wasn’t.
It was getting to be almost a little apocalyptic at one stage!
Love that top image Patti.. wonderful!
At least we get to enjoy our tropical delights in the face of winter’s fury, thank you John!
Fun in every shot!
Thank you so much Elena! 🙂
Always a treat to see your joyful photos!
You are so sweet, thank you Annie!
Wonderful set of images, makes me smile!
Thank you so much Malin, keep smiling!
such fun – and am glad that the snow proved to be an empty promise. enjoyed these moments. thanks for sharing.
We get 10 inches and the universal reaction is a so what! Thank you Kris!
Great smile on Fred or is it Lawrence – the solo photo. The snow didn’t seem to dim their spirits. Wonderful attitudes for life. : )
As you say Issy, great attitudes!
Nice series, Patti. No snowmageddon, but plenty of snow anyway from looking at your posts.
Missed this before (during hibernation) but catching up now.
What grins! NASCAR in New York.
