Geez, there I thought I was all past that and now feel like a honeymoon again. What a great shot and with that police car as well. Hope I don’t get arrested, but I did not touch her inappropriately.
somebody beat me to the comment – that leg looks like the real thing. what a unique capture.
i was in NYC on a short visit long before 9/11 and what amazed me in the evening was the number of garbage bags lined up on the street waiting to be collected. but that was just ordinary garbage. this, oddly enough, is art.
This really is an excellent find and well-timed shot. I love this composition. Everything’s in the right place at the right time. Damn good shot, Patti!
You were so glad you had your camera, right? The whole thing is great – the discarded mannequin of course, the skewed angle, the police are, the contrast-y black and white – wonderful Patti.
Wow! That could illustrate any modern (or old) film noir! Even the pose is perfect.
The cover of a True Detective magazine, circa 1940’s?
Patti, I know this was serendipity, but I suppose luck, like serendipity, comes to those who prepare for it. So congrats! once again.
Oh, what can I say, Patti… Others have used up all the good words. It took me a while to get to this post… and here it is… 2:30 in the morning; a wintry Jerusalem night… I get up, and have a cup of tea… and look for something to give this break in my sleep some meaning. I find this. And then the others have used up all the words. Life is tough sometimes…
Great!!
wow! well done. very creepy.
This one reaches out and grabs you and stirs the imagination like no other.
Ooooh, I really like this one. Well done!
Good one, Patti; title as well!
Ha,ha I love this Patti 🙂 Perfect title.
The NYPD make this image perfect Patti….

Pregnant with social/political commentary.

Beautifully captured, and yes, the police car really makes the shot.
Brilliant find and capture. Don’t you love it when such things appear?
Brilliant photo Patti!!
Bravo Patti! That NYPD in the background is knockout. The photograph is loaded!
Ojoj, that is how I see the Big city on it’s darkest. How dramatic, Patti. And sad.
Not a good time of year to be dumped naked. Terrific shot, Patti!

Wow, what a powerful image! Absolutely fantastic, Patti!
Fantastic! Beautifully realised. And, like Anette says really powerful. I’m guessing you chanced upon this scene?
Just awesome. Reminds me of that iconic Life photograph from 1947 of woman who jumped off the Empire State Bldg…in a good way of course 😉
Hehe. Wonderfully captured!
“Welcome to Dumpville. Population: You”.
HAVing the po car go by is a sweet addition – and the bags all piled and the leg – and just coooooool
This is so great!!
The biker had big chest muscles, huh? ;-))
I was just about to call out, “Somebody call the police!” but apparently someone beat me to it.
Very, very interesting! Where exactly in NY is this?
This really is an excellent find and well-timed shot. I love this composition. Everything’s in the right place at the right time. Damn good shot, Patti!
If WordPress tries to select the best street shot of 2014, THIS one has my vote!
Holy cow, is this ever good!

we saw naked women half hidden in plastic bags as beggars on the streets in Harlem…
Wow! That could illustrate any modern (or old) film noir! Even the pose is perfect.

I had to come back to see this shot again!
It’s still on my mind!
The kind of photo of Gotham that somehow doesn’t surprise me. Nicely done.
A very, very powerful photograph.
Welcome to New York Uday, and thank you so much!
