Giving the Chelsea girls their due.
I can see she is a Chelsea girl. They are still around?!
Bente, Chelsea girl lives! Forever!
Thanks to Nico. Are they restoring it? Cheers, harrie.
She does look great!
of course 🙂
Love this! Such attitude…
it’s a great perspective..with the humans – “the verticals” I would call them – supporting the restoring..Excellent one!
I remember you well from the Chelsea Hotel…
Elegance + attitude. I could only aspire to it! Great shot.
A favorite place and area in NYC…….great photo!
Hope that’s not her ciggy butt on the pavement. .;)
Great shot with her looking over her sunnies.
I like her posture and crossed-leg stance, peeping back at you from behind those shades.
She’s so cool!
I’m glad that the Chelsea skinheads are no longer a prominent fixture in the area . . . I think.
Patti, your eye is unerring. Love your work.
are you talkin’ to me?
This is an intriguing composition. Everything is just in the right place…
Fantastic shot and a perfect subject! Plus, a nice bit of nostalgia for me.
Very cool Patti. A wonderful street life shot.
Great shot – what a cool customer!
She most definitely has that Über cool look about her !
I haven’t seen attitude like that in a long time.
A great photo again Patti 🙂 The look and attitude of the Chelsea girl, shadows and silhouettes on the pavement, scaffolding as framing and three distinct sections of the photo 🙂
having problem leaving comments/likes
OK, in now
Welcome Carl, and thank you so much!
There must be something in the wireless air . . .
Hi, Patti! I’ve been looking at this photo for days. Trying to be able to like and leave a comment. After a week of on-off communication with the Happiness Engineers at WP, and having sent a screen shot of the pop-up denying me access to comment on your blog, they told me to change from Chrome to Firefox… I like this photo very much. Interesting composition and shadow/light with details while you maintain the focus on the girl. Masterful, I think. 🙂
Sorry to hear you have been having so many problems George, thank you so much for the effort and your very kind words! I would be so happy with WP engineer problems, my laptop is seriously lagging 😦 either that or my wireless connection is sluggish . . . Always lovely to hear from you and lovelier to see what you have been up to in your garden of delights!
I love the cinematic feel of this shot Patti. Fab composition as always. As George says…masterful! 🙂
Thank you so much Madhu! I wasn’t sure how it was going to turn out, what with the scaffolding etc. but always fun trying.
loved that pose and look 🙂
Thank you Joshi, she does it well!
The place where Sid Vicious allegedly stabbed his girlfriend to death in 1978… great picture , Patti !
The very place indeed Geert . . . .
There’s something 70’s about the ladies in this image but I’m unsure why – perhaps it’s the long straight hair and the glasses? It’s a fascinating capture 🙂
Nostalgia is always just around the corner Martin!
could be the cover of a novel book…
Frizz, what would you suggest as the title?
“Quiet Days in Chelsea” – do you know “Quiet days in Clichy” by Henry Miller? Henry Miller wrote his trilogy Sexus – Nexus – Plexus in the public library at the 42nd street …
A little plain in their clothing — but suggesting to me quite another type of street girl!
Never underestimate the power of plain!!! 🙂
Love the triangle of humans, never mind the Chelsea!
The random order of geometry, somehow it falls into place. Thank you Elena!
Long live the Chelsea girl! 🙂
To Chelsea girls everywhere!
Wow. Hello there! 😀
