.Yes, I thought it was lined paper (I looked at the enlarged version); probably torn from a coil-bound Hilroy notebook. I’m imagining that she’s a fledling writer without a laptop and word processor who; nevertheless finds inspiration by penning her thoughts in a midtown diner.
Beauty shot. I like the inclusion of her surroundings like an environmental portrait; lots of detail.
I also like you reflection superimposed in the window.
Interesting shot and use of reflections. I can almost see you. ๐
BTW, Sony have pre announced the A7s: Full frame, less MP but better/higher ISO. Sounds like a good combination, particularly for the street and candids.
Love all the different layers of this image, bending the concept of what is real and what is reflected. Plus, it makes me think of the song, Tom’s Diner by Suzanne Vega. ๐
Nice selfie!
And I thought I was hiding behind the counter!
LOL, nice reflection. ๐
Nice to see you, Patti! It’s a fascinating shot – the balance of elements is beautiful – like a highwire act.
Thank you Richard, I was keen not to put anyone off their breakfast . . .
Contemporary Edward Hopper. Lovely as always.
We all need our places to go to . . . do you have a favourite countertop somewhere Tom?
Nice photo Patti!
Thank you so much Peter!!
Beautiful! I like it!

Wonderful isn’t it where we find our serenity! Thank you Robert!
This is AWEsome. You’re brilliant. That bus…
Thank you Pierr, trust a bus to come along when you don’t need one but then again . . . !
Evocative, and timeless setting totally enlivened by the bus coming through โฆ your timing was perfect Patti โฆ fab ๐

‘Take out’, here we call it ‘take away’. Lovely shot. Heartening to see the woman reading something hand written, pen in hand. Rare now a days.
Awesome snap!

This is a fascinating photo to look at, what with all the elements of reflection and inside at the same time. A lot to look at here.
So’s how’s da apple pie at dis joint?
Patti it captures the “essence” of a Diner perfectly but with so much more…..well done!

I love this shot; lots of different things going on!
A fabulous shot with a special effect.

You’ve captured it! Surrounded by buzz; in her own world. The beat goes on. Love that you made it black and white.
Diners have so many stories going on. You’ve captured a nice grouping of them.
Perfection โฆ.
I love this image Patti! Thanks for sharing!
It looks like four or five worlds, all overlapping. Great shot, Patti.
hi Patti, congrats for your term “illuminated silence . . .”
P.S.: when I was in New York I often missed music – so here is an intensive pack:
