Silver linings almost everywhere! Views from hotel rooms over looking car parks in the deep south of New Jersey where I have recently been spending time. Not much more to say really . . . . Have a great week-end everyone!
The Times needs to hire you!
Derrick, when I stop laughing, I shall let you know how much your comment made my day!
Thank you! 🙂
First in the queue Hare Krishnas. Now New Jersey car lots. You lead an exciting life. The parking lot photos were kind of poignant, there’s a loneliness there. People visiting, not putting down roots.
Tom, your comment sums up everything about the car parks which I hope to explore further. Yes, there is a definite loneliness there, much of it mine, because I am the one on the outside looking in. Or perhaps the one on the inside looking out! But inside these places people connect, as much as they want to anyway, and I know there are roots, communities etc around these car parks, some of whom couldn’t cope with the thought of living in the loneliness of a big city such as . . . NY!
good weekend to you !
And to you Pat! Lovely weather!
And you even caught a vintage car show in that 5th shot! Awesome!
That was such a treat, more on that later Annie. The cars were all in such good form!
I’m a sucker for car parks. Don’t know why – I just am. Fun shots.
Fasten your seat belt Terry, more to come!
Who knew this subject could yield such interesting images!
That is indeed the question!
Whose Jean’ed legs are those? A bit casual ain’t it? I loved the cloud shots. Your photos should be in a National Gallery.
The last two shots, I remembered later, were taken from a Barnes and Noble book shop, oops. The jeans and sneakers belong to a man who made himself at home with a book from the shelf. As does everyone at B & N which is part of why they are going broke!
Why those cars with their bonnets up? Were they over-excited, is it a cultural habit?
Gerard, they are vintage cars, showing off their under bonnets! They were beautiful cars – more photos later, when I get a better internet connection!
Wotcha doin’ in Noo Joisey?
Having the time of my life!
Was fascinated to see the old cars. Not what I had expected at all until I read the comments. Lovely shots.
Not what I expected either after days of looking at the same view! So pleased you enjoyed, thank you MBL!
Oh well, you can’t always have the excitement of New York with your camera I suppose.
I suppose excitement is in the eye of the beholder, wherever we are!
Great shots, Patti!
Thank you Richard!
If all else fails, you manage to find drama in the clouds!
They do manage to put on a good show down here!
I really like the yellow tones in these, Ms. K…
there’s something kind of mysterious about that to me
(it almost reminds me of that strange / fascinating kind of light you sometimes see right before or after a storm)…
🙂
Thank you SiG, the storms weren’t too far away from these shots!
amazing that car parks make such great photos!
My attempt at NJ landscape shots!
too many hurricanes in the USA, Patti, maybe a reason to go back to the UK?
And there is more bad weather set to go through the SW of the country this afternoon!
As for going back to the UK, I have no say in the matter, let alone the weather!
Car Parks… No different to Rail Yards… History to be recorded and a god person to do the recording 🙂
Good Person… i’ll strangulate this keyboard 😉
Those dang keyboards! Thank you Martin!
Only you can make the mundane look so interesting Patti 🙂 Look forward to the vintage car photos.
Thank you Madhu! These car parks make me feel like such a stranger in town as I cross from one end to the other, on foot!
