Wonderful, Ms. K! There is something that strikes me as very… relaxing (for lack of a stronger vocabulary) about these pieces… particularly that first shot… beautiful…
🙂
It is the Plaza – which was converted from a hotel into condos 😦 although I think they do have hotel rooms available. I could google it but either way I know I shall never be taking an elevator to anywhere in the Plaza. But at least they set some great films there!
I can hear Simon and Garfunkel in the title and REALLY feel the city in the images. Mornings are so special – so glad you are up early to share all this with us Patti!
Talking about S & G, I never go anywhere near the 59th St Bridge without feeling groovy, regardless of how I am really feeling. They did almost write the soundtrack to the city didn’t they! Such a contrast to your spectacular morning/all day views!
You captured a rich golden moment in that first shot, Patti!
They’re all human-made canyon magic!
I love how you went from no people in the first shot to gradually more and more people in the remaining shots.
Lovely, Patti. There’s a sense of serenity in that first shot, the way it feels when light first arrives in the deep canyons in red rock country. When I moved from the mountains to the city for a short time, we used to get up early and walk downtown just to see the light reflected this way.
Very atmospheric shots. Love the title. 🙂
Thank you David, it was a lovely morning!
Knock me out, Nylon Daze, keep these wonderful photos coming. Your angles and subjects, always a treat.
Tommy, I am always knocked out by your highly entertaining Yorkville tales and great shots. Thank you and so good to see you here!
Sometimes it’s wonderful to watch the sun race the people through the canyons. Excellent Patti.
Glad you enjoyed the space and the views Tom!
I especially like the 9:05 shot and the touch of shadow play in part of the frame !
Thank you Pat! It was one of those moments of turn around, to see what is behind.
These are great, Patti! Love the atmosphere you’ve evoked. The final two are stone-cold classic Pattis.
Wow thank you Richard, “stone-cold classic Pattis” makes me want to run out and get a printed T-shirt! What a way you have! 🙂
Oooo, ahhh, love that first shot, and the second to last made me think of the Beatles’ Abby Road album cover! Margie
Here comes the sun! Thank you so much Margie and hope it is shining for your next visit!
Beautiful light Patti.. what time was it?
Thank you Paula! As the late great Harry Nilsson sang, it was early in the morning
(if 9.00’ish counts as early …)
golden light!
A lovely time of the day!

More than happy to go with relaxed, thank you for your kind and very generous words SiG!
Ahhhh…. the first one, for me, but they are all beautiful.
Is it the Woolworths building?

Gaynor, it shall be yours. To share with Eloise!
Thanks Patti, and there I thought I would never get to see Manhattan!
Hope you do get here one day Gerard. What is on your Manhattan list of top places to see, things to do?

I love the first shot! Beautiful light!
Thank you so much TTRO!

You are very kind, thank you so much Annie! It doesn’t take long for the those footpaths / pavements / sidewalks to disappear under all the feet!

Ah, the 3rd & 4th bring it all back for me – nice!
I love the light in that first photo.
bright and nice 🙂
Before the crowds — and before the harsh bright light. Lovely soft effects here —
Such calm and wonderful golden light. Make me long for the city, even a great city. Wonderful series of photos, Patti.
The canyons; I like that. Beautiful light.
Different canyons than I thought after reading the header. I love those photos and find them very interesting.
Thank you so much Sartenada, we take our canyons where we get them! Love your views of Finland!
