I guess you had to be there . . . . Any performance from the great Matthew Silver is beyond my translation, but, give him the time of day and he will give you a good time - although I have to admit, I am a coward and prefer to keep my distance from his inter-active improv. I would be too dumbstruck with awe!
He is harmless – don’t be afraid to get close that is unless he is performing with animals 😉
Next time Pat!
And so versatile in the costume department as your further endearing flickr shot demonstrates!
How nice of you to link in my shot of “The Great Performer” – he is indeed a unique street performer 😉
You got close enough. I understand your trepidation about possibly getting into a street performance. It’s a battle sometimes to get out there and face my fellow humans. I like them, but not so close.
Some people are just natural performers but they wouldn’t be performers without an audience. We have our uses!
your photos tell the story 🙂
He certainly told more than a few!
Good one Patti. A bit of relief from the Boston tragedy. Raining cats and dogs here, a nice relief as well.
Gerard, proof if ever that America does indeed run on Dunkin’ – a popular donut advertising slogan, this from today’s NYT’s:
On Saturday morning, Sunny McDonough, 34, a hairstylist and accountant who lives in Watertown, brought her 3-year-old daughter to Dunkin’ Donuts for a treat after having been cooped up for so long.
Ms. McDonough said she expected the ordeal to bring more people to Watertown. “Now we’re on the map,” she said. “And I think our property values are going to go up by 10 percent. Everyone knows where we are now, and they might be more inclined to visit and go to the diner and the stores.
“We’re really a safe, suburban community,” she said — and then caught herself and smiled. “Except for the terrorist hiding in the boat.”

Quite a week indeed and I hope you enjoy the rain!
I’ve never been more afraid in my life!
Hehehehe. Just kidding. I love “performance art” – you never know what you’re going to get but you know it will be interesting. 🙂
Terry, I hope you take a look @PatMinNYC’s flickr shot!
Amazing, Patti! I learn so much through your pictures. They tell such wonderful stories. Thank you for bringing your world to my virtual doorstep.
Annie, there’s a parking spot somewhere here in the city for you to park your delightful TinCan doorstep and gather some stories and those I would love to see and hear!
Me too, but his improv partner looks as if he was getting right into it! That’s who I’d rather be. 🙂
Exactly! They were so good together!
“…although I have to admit, I …
prefer to keep my distance
from his inter-active improv…”
Only because I like to keep the fact of my poor attempts at witty banter and repartee a secret. 😦
I second frizztext’s motion.
Better you than me, Patti.
But you are a lightning rod for adventure, all because you step out front and center!
Judith, out front and centre is the last place I want to be! 🙂
Patti!!! Was so happy to see you on my blog!! I always say, “only in New York”. That statement encompasses a whole lot! Headed there next weekend to see our kiddos. Yippee!! Hugs, Margie
And so happy to see you here Margie! I know how much you enjoy NYC and am sure you will have fun with the kiddos. And take lots of great shots!
He certainly looks mad as a cut snake!
So that’s what a cut snake looks like!
I can understand your trepidation – love the extremity of his outfit. Great sequence, Patti!
He was more modest on this occasion – I have shots of him wearing psychedelic Speedos but I tucked those away.
looks great and exciting 🙂
He was very funny Joshi!
I would keep my distance too! Haha.
But Cardinal, how could you resist? 🙂
I’d keep my distance too, but it has more to do with his outfit than his performance, I think.
It’s the hairy legs isn’t it Margie?
maybe once even a British artist will make a performance in New York; after John Lennon, Eric Clapton etc. maybe once the Sex Pistols? Whom would you like to see there? Monty Pythons? Maybe better than any Woody Allan?
Van Morrison, Paul Weller, Shane McGowan for starters, oh and Annie Lennox!
Hahaha… certainly looks like an experience to remember… but… um… what is he doing with my outfit?!
🙂
I always knew you had a certain flair SiG!
well portrayed !
He did it all himself! 🙂
enjoyed this photo story! thanks for sharing. 🙂
LOL! Too funny!! You should get more involved next time, you never know what kind of pics you’ll get!!
That’s a real character 🙂 Great shots to convey the experience of watching his show
