Sunrise over America
or, a room with a view! Good morning America from a hotel room in New Jersey, stranded in an armpit between expressways and roadways in every direction Car parks and a Greyhound Bus Terminal in the near distance - the tales that Dog could tell! * * * * *
wonderful bright image Patti, has me reaching for my sunglasses. It’s a good feeling after a long winter.
The bright light was a shock, thank you Terry!
Sepia magic! Love the composition with the three centered golden areas.
Thank you Annie! The landscape looks so different without tall buildings!
Fantastic Patti, New Jersey never looked better.
The blinding light helps, thanks Tom!
What a contrast to the hedonistic spring skiing series! What magic sepia can weave, to make this shocking scene of urban parking lot wasteland seem warm and benign in the early morning glow.
Isn’t it just! You know that feeling when you draw back the curtain et voila, a full light show!
🙂
It is, indeed, a beautiful photo. And I hadn’t even noticed the three ‘golden’ areas mentioned by TCT. Have you adjusted the colour, or was it ‘as is’? Still looks pretty cold!
Gaynor, this shot is straight out of camera, albeit through a smudgy hotel window, no adjustments because I am a lazy little sod who is till trying to work my way through Photoshop . . . .
And yes, it was chilly!
Wow, what a great shot! Mundane and otherworldly. The light and the atmosphere is just perfect. Another for the gallery wall.
Thank you Richard, here’s to celebrating the mundane – where would our days be without it!
this is beautiful and looks like a painting 🙂
Oh thank you Joshi!
Great tones! Is that Tony Soprano getting out of a car down there??
I am not asking any questions Derrick . . . keeping my head down!
I hope you’re on your way to someplace fun, Patti. Or are you heading home?
Charles, I am having fun exploring car parks of this great country! 🙂
It is said that every picture tells a story… and this one is no exception – hope you are back among the urbanites 😉
Thank you so much Pat! Back among the urbanites but always happy to hit the open road, and keep going . . . .!
like a scene from a french film noir…
Yes … where the protagonist is about to cycle across the screen 🙂
Putting Olive and Geoff in charge of screenplay / direction!
Your pictures makes me feel as though I need more coffee 😉
Geoff, is this a good thing?
As the beginning of a movie. 😉
Carlos, let’s make a movie!
fantastic gold pervasiveness !
Thank you for your kind words and I hope the sun is shining for you where you are!
That warm, golden atmosphere would go a long way in sprucing up any parking lot!
🙂
Thank you SiG! It was a “who knew?” moment of golden hour glory – well, everything being relative!
Not a place for a long stay maybe, but the light is really wonderful!
Bente, the hotel did have a decent enough bar!
What a beautiful morning! 🙂
Grabbing the moment while it lasted!
Gorgeous Patti, as if its printed on bronze..
Thank you Cath, it was such a surprise!
To me, a NJ hotel parking lot like this is so depressing – and look at what you did with it. Good! So good!
BB, doing my best to avoid the d-word where NJ car parks are concerned . . . . 🙂
