A quick post on the fly while noting how quickly time flies! I took these shots last year, 2012 wondering where in the meantime the time has gone. . . . These are a few of the April 1st Fun Day shots taken at Breckenridge, a magnet for Spring Breakers where dress up, or rather, dress down, is the order of the day. It is always a great day and if I could turn back time and ski down a sunny mountain slope wearing a bikini . . .
Oh, to be young and attractive. The pictures are eye-popping, a perfect warm up for Nature’s color explosion. Thanks.
Tom, a warm smile and a twinkle in the eye is always attractive, whatever the age! Don’t you think? 🙂
Nice ones!
Another road trip for you Pat!
Beautiful and fun shots 🙂
As good as a day on the beach, thank you Madhu!
Great shots, Patti! Looks like a first class event 🙂
Some might question your definition of class here Richard but I do agree with you, it is aways first class!
great captures again, must have been not too cold…
Beautiful, balmy sunshine, with that crisp clean air, was enjoyed by all! Thank you Olive and hope you are enjoying the joys of spring where you are!
Wonderful Mountain Montage, Patti!
Your great rapport with people shows through your photos!
Annie, you would love it out there, it is so much fun and thank you as ever for being part of the fun!
What a fun series!! The sky is so blue! And costumes really pop. Especially the pink and green, too! T.
Theadora, I just know you would come up with the perfect costume for the occasion!!!
Good shots for beautiful people and a great woman photographer.
Carlos
Carlos, the joys of spring in the Colorado Rockies! Not to mention your most kind words!
I remember laughing at some of these last year – great characters; fun shots! Well captured.
…love the teletubbies…
Hasn’t the time flown by! I put a few of these pics on FB but didn’t get around to putting them here for some reason, at least I don’t think I did . . . . . . I thought I would be out there again for April 1 this year, tickets were booked but last minute plans changed all that and now heading out there . . . .tomorrow! Not too sure that the teletubbies stay out beyond April 1 . . .
Great to catch up Patti, especially on such an exuberant note. I remember loving spring skiing in Australia (soooo warm!) but the idea of me swishing down the slopes these days is more far-fetched than you donning a bikini to join these kids!
I especially loved your subway shots – the characters of New York, and the way you capture them (and their pets or other accoutrements) is always a delight.
Isn’t it so much fun, the places where we catch up! I always enjoy my visits to your tropical paradise and have every confidence that you will take it with you on your next move. I would love to hear your tales of spring skiing and I do hope you get to swish down a slope again, if it is something you really want to do. We can all don our mental bikinis, it’s the thought that counts!
Mental bikinis and mental swishing – now there’s a grand idea Patti 🙂
And real time cocktails at the bottom of the slope, cheers Meredith!
Ha, ha!
That looks a fun place to be 🙂
It was so much fun, for all ages! I do have photos of topless older men, who by the way were more than happy to pose and I did email them along but I didn’t hear anything back . . . the harshness of that sober light of day!
Almost looks like an ad campaign! Exciting setting, outlandish outfits and great shots. April 1st is timeless. Enjoy your own break Patti!
Wow, an ad campaign, hmm . . . . . and they are all such great skiers and snowboarders, whatever the outfits! Thank you Philippa, the break was such a great spring treat and, this year, they have had one of the best springs ever. I think it is still snowing out there now.
Some excellent shots. I could almost smell the fun. 🙂
That’s teen spirit plus for you!
Looks like the kids are having fun. But one doesn’t need to be young to have fun or to be beautiful. No? Great images capturing the mood of the Spring Breakers’ snow party.
No, I mean yes, Otto, you are very right about fun and beauty not being the preserve of the young, all of whom are truly beautiful anyway but they will never appreciate just how much so they were until they are older, and still beautiful and so on . . . 🙂
You have a knack for capturing the moment!! Great shots!
So says the master! 🙂
These are not the droids you’re looking for
If there’s snow around durning a spring-break this looks like a good way to deal with it! I’ve always wanted to learn how to snowboard… with my ‘coordination’ I’d probably get a few looks, though (well, probably not as many as if I was wearing the bikini, but, just the same…)!
Such fun shots, Ms. K! Awesome!
🙂
SiG, go get that plank of wood, plant your feet on it, and with some lessons I guarantee you will be gliding in no time. You can save the bikini for an April 1st treat!
Snow! And bikinis! It would definitely have been a nice place to be, even if I am no good on a snowboard I guess (never tried). But somebody have to watch too.
Something lovely about being warm in the snow, without having to wear all those heavy clothes . . . I have never snowboarded either but I am tempted to give it a try, which is as far as I ever get with that idea. Love your shots of Norwegian cross-country!
If only we could turn back time. : )
Really fun photographs!
That would be fun! But then the agony of making some of those decisions all over again . . . 🙂
fun 🙂
It was, it was!
Great portraits of a very colourful bunch of people having fun. I think you’ve really captured the atmosphere! My favourite is the guy in the helmet and reflective goggles – Though the young lady with pink hair in the 4th shot and the guy with the stars and stripes attached to his ski-poles ran it close 🙂
Thank you Martin, the beer and the live music jollied everything along quite nicely! As for the girl with the pink hair, she was an absolute stand-out in the great fun department, I could do a whole post on her alone!
Teletubbies!
Aren’t they great!
Great photos. Looks like a warm day to go skiing/snowboarding. A lot of beautiful American girls 😀
Thank you Cardinal, a little more Americana for you! (my “linking” not working here on WP . . . so having to go with the big chunk 😦 but then again, maybe not so bad 🙂 )
Oh to have my life over again..! I feel I must, before I die, ski downhill in a bikini. 🙂 You capture so much life Patti, just brilliant..
Cath, let’s do it! Even if the bikini is worn underneath a dressing gown on a daring escape from the nursing home, in that far distant future . . .
hahaha – you’re on!! 🙂
fun and bright…the energy and bright sun I love!
Thank you Hedy! 🙂
