Spring, in the Big Apple!

Spring, it's out there somewhere but not yet, not here in the Big Apple. The first day of spring and still there is talk of more snow showers to come later in the week. I took these shots some months ago but it but it doesn't really feel that long ago . . . Whatever, we take our spring moments where we find them. Even if they are deep underground riding the NYC Subway!
Nice shots. We had a nice dusting of snow in Ohio today. It’s coming your way. Enjoy. ๐
Thank you Terry! Some snow did blow through earlier today, and it is still so cold. You keep warm in Ohio!
As you know Spring arrived yesterday and Winter told her to shove off for another 8 to 10 days. Fear not, Spring will pose for you soon.
And soon enough we will be complaining abut the heat!
Was born Staten Island but been in Miami since 1954 at 5 years old. I’ll be back up there. Someday.
One day soon I hope Carl but until then you will always have your Yankees!
I feel just like the “dog head” in your photos: “Enough of winter! Uncle”
Those dog days of winter . . .
Heavy snow in the mountains here, again, with more predicted. Snowdrops are out and our apple tree has started to bud, but it’s still very cold.
Do you ever have any problems taking your photographs. What do people say, what do you ask them…
I can imagine how cold it must be for you in those Welsh mountains . . .
As for taking photos of people, I’m not sure where to start. You know those instant reactions to sights we all have in our heads, I’m afraid I let mine out so it becomes ” Wow, I love what you have done to your hair, do you mind if I take a photo?” and the more crowded and hectic the circumstances, the less opportunity there is for rearranging and posing.
I have said somewhere before that I have a big camera, I can’t hide it and I have to tell you, so many people have asked me to take their photos. I have only ever had one upsetting problem and that was from a Republican voting woman protestor who took exception to her very public stand being photographed!
It was still only in the mid-twenties when I woke up today, Ms. K…
I think it’s causing the expression on my face to look something like that dog’s…
๐
Poor Sig . . . it’s a look that sure says it all!
Thanks, Patti! That dog just made me laugh out loud! Snow due here too…
I just happened to look up from where I was sitting to see this cute little face staring right at me – who could resist!
As for the never-ending snow . . . . keep warm and safe! More due here this evening apparently.
My window to the city life: great, Patti! But poor dog…. ๐
It is so different to your spectacular big blue skies and frozen fields! As for the pooch, most of them are treated as highly treasured family members. New Yorkers adore their dogs with most of them taken to “beauty parlours” far more often than I ever bother!
Great shot in the subway Patti ,I love it ๐
Thank you Jake, it was fun!
Oh, how I miss you spring … Wonderful capture, Patti! You just made me smile ๐
Anette, we are all missing spring – some snow just blew through a moment ago! Thank you so much for your kind words!
You’re bringing back memories – these shots make the subway look pretty wonderful…and I know it is, sometimes…but then there are all those other times…But they are great pictures, and you’re right, you take it where you can find it!
Thank you bluebrightly, would love to hear some of your memories!
I like the way everyone is apparently so comfortable with you.
I thought it was just a New York degree of comfort!
not your typical spring flower shots for sure!! LOL! that dog!! ๐
Oh Derrick, those shots aren’t out there to be had yet! Snow just blew through not so long ago . . . . I think the dog had a long day!
๐ Hope you’re staying warm!
Thank you Derrick! The iPod is on shuffle, the kettle is on and I’m about to pop over to Texas for a sunshine visit ๐
Just posted a couple shots for just that reason! ๐
Aren’t you so sweet! On my way!
It looks like the Yorkie is wrapped in a newspaper. Such a cute face … and … well-behaved. Probably bored withthe people. hahaha
I feel guilty saying it is not only Spring-like here but it is warm – like 80. I’ll try to send some up north to you.
Happy Sanday …
Enjoy your warm weather Isadora, no hard feelings from here in cold windy snowy NY! ๐
Great photos! I’m going to write something you don’t read or hear too often: I love the NYC subway!
Great to hear AA, that makes two of us so far, or should we just keep this admission to ourselves . . . .?
Great shots, patti. The last one is my favorite for sure. ๐
He/she has that Funny Face!
I was sure I liked this post before… hmm…
Anyways I caught up with it eventually. Thanks for drooping by every now and then.
Oh I think I have done the same at times PB! Always a pleasure to drop by you!
hehe that is nice ๐
Thank you Joshi!
Working your magic of instant rapport again, eh? New Yorkers respond to genuineness. And fearless friendliness, if I can coin that phrase.
And then you appear!
And then I appear! Still laughing about this – I am that person who people are always asking “Have we met before?” The answer is often yes but it’s always easier to say no and start again, all over from the beginning!
Just got back from the Deep South and it was 30 degrees and snowing when we left Memphis a few days ago ;-(
Great shot of the dog & the title detail ๐
It was snowing in Memphis? That hardly seems fair, I mean what is the point of being anywhere in the Deep South with snow . . . looking fwd to seeing your photos Pat!
