Shade and Softball

Sunday softball in the cool shade of Central Park, on the soft green grass of the Great Lawn.
While the middle of the US is in the grips of one of the worst droughts in 50 years
heavy summer showers so far are keeping NYC green. It seems churlish to complain of the heat
and humidity here.
Dedicated New Yorker's hit the parks in a big way and dedicated softball players hit that ball!
It's a playground for everyone. Families and friends. Active and passive.
Bagels, iced coffee and sweet cool summertime bliss in the shade!

I love how these photos look 3D!
Sounds like you had one cool day (:
Thank you Annie! Perhaps they look like 3D because I was sitting on the grass under the shade of a big tree and I didn’t move from that spot . . . hope you have enjoyed your day where you are!
Your comment on my blog yesterday brought good weather, today dawned as a day of spring …
Your very good shots …
Wishing you sweet days of spring Carlos!
nice action shots and the first one is really cool 😉
He was having so much fun, such a happy little boy!
Look how green!!! LOL, great action shots!
Green and oh so soft! I have to own up to these being the laziest action shots ever if only because I refused to move from my spot sitting on that grass! 🙂
LOL, yes, I could picture you on a picnic blanket chilling out and enjoying the view!
we enjoyed the rollerbladers (rolling to the music) in the Central Park very much – are they still there?
Yes, they are still there! We went over to that part of the park after the softball and they were getting it all set up for that evening’s roller disco. I took some shots but couldn’t get what I was after – plus I wasn’t on my own which always translates as “how long are we going to be out here for?. . . ” Maybe I can catch more tomorrow.
It is great fun to watch and listen to the music even though I have to admit I was never a big fan of disco the first time around but nostalgia has a way of massaging the memories!
Great pictures Patti. I liked the second one a lot.
Thank you Arindam! It might be softball in the park but they do take it seriously!
