Weekly Photo Challenge: Down
From here, in downtown New York City . . .
I can see up there, the cloud coming down.
From up here, in the sunshine of Los Angeles . . .
I can see down there, downtown LA.

I miss New York and all these amazingly tall buildings. Great photographs!
It’s only 7 hours away . . .
I just love your perspective (literally) on this challenge, PK. Beautiful shots, simple words = effective!
Looking forward to sharing views, and perspectives, again and soon!
You caught a great perspective here in both photos.
Thank you Orples! To be fair, though, the perspectives caught me!
Do we live in a world of dominoes? I certainly do in condo canyon Aventura, Florida.
My dominoe is a 5th floor walk-up, puff puff puff . . . does this make it the Penthouse? I have to rationalise these things as best I can!
Yippee! Love the Big Apple. Headed there March 1st!
Margie, not long to go before you take a bite out of this Big Apple!!!
i love the angles looking up with the red art in the foreground.
That Gotham City look!
These were very nice photos.
Thank you ccassello and lovely to meet you!
Beautiful photographs. The city looks beautiful. Great post.
Hello Arindam and thank you for your kind words!
vertigo … wow – definitely “Down”
As for cleaning the windows . . .
interesting perspective in the 1st photo, the angles, the red in the foreground. Nice!
I have to tell you, it is lovely being down there beneath it all, thank you SF!
Great photo’s I like the looking up. Can’t say I like Los Angeles, maybe I’m just biased but I’ve travelled through other parts of the good ol’ US of A and felt perfectly safe. LA scared the hell out of me…. and I couldn’t wait to leave.
Now Mike, I want to hear all about your time in LA! For some reason I have a big soft spot for the place but most of my time there has been spent in the downtown part. It is always a bad sign with me when I begin to speculate on what part of downtown LA I would like to live in . . .
I love how organized the city chaos looks from above!
And this is LA!
Awe inspiring and breath taking being so high. Great pictures well done..;)
Thank you so much Cobbles! The glass walled elevator runs on the outside of the building which is an even better photo op!
I love both pictures. Fantastic view up and down!!
Thank you Gracie! I love your colourful shots!
Cool! LA. Would love to see the the place.
I hope you do get to LA, would love to see what you make of it!
The first photo is truly amazing. The red art sculpture immediately grabs your attention and then directs your eyes up toward the top of the buildings. IMHO… beautiful composition!
I truly value your opinion, absolutely touched and thank you so much!
I like that you took two perspective–up and down. Both are beautiful sights to see …
It was tricky, for me, to think of one without the other. Glad you enjoyed the views, thank you!
Awesome photos. I like both perspectives 😉
Thank you so much and lovely to see you here!
These photos made me say, “Wow!” Just amazing shots my friend. Looking up, looking down, both views are beautiful. Thank you. Best wishes to you and your family.
When one is down, there is only one way left to go – up. That we steer a steady path between the two, enjoying the best along the way of what each has to offer comes with my best wishes to you and all. As always IT, thank you so much for yours!
great clicks!
haven’t been to LA, but i like the angle of that one. maybe one day it will happen.
looking up at the sky in your first image reminds me of my visit to NYC, and being mesmerized by how tall some of those towers were, and how little sky there was to be seen.
having said that, i loved it and it is a place i would happily visit again one day. thanks for sharing.
NYC is definitely a most mesmerising city and I am sure you must have some wonderful shots from your visit. As for LA, it is certainly different but not without some charms. Hope you get there one day, maybe a road trip from your part of the world? Great shots along the way . . .
Love the pictures. It looks a long way down!
A long way down but only 27 floors, which is enough for me! Thank you so much for your lovely comment!
Excellent shots and I love that you showed us both up and down.. 😉
So sweet of you to say, thank you! As for both up and down, can’t have one without the other (can’t bear the thought of being down the bottom of a deep well . . .)!
Beautiful…
makes me want to visit both places!
🙂
Thank you kind Sir and please, allow me to assure you, you would love both places, or at least get something out of them!

Kind greetings, and thanks always, to you Frizz!
Truly Remarkable entry Patti for theme Down 🙂
Hello Jake, “down” is such a flexible concept, don’t you think?
Nice shots for the challenge Patti. I love the idea of the descending clouds and looking down into Downtown LA 🙂
Thank you Martin! Those descending clouds, to me at least, are Gotham City at its finest!
Two excellent cityscapes. There is something very inviting about the first picture. Or maybe I just like fog and skyscrapers. The light in the second photo is just amazingly gorgeous, I believe partly because of reflections from nearby buildings. Great work!
What I always enjoy about fog and skyscrapers is the sensing of lurking mystery and eerie calm. As for the light in the second shot, it was there one minute, gone the next. Thank you, Otto for your very kind words here and those of further inspiration from your own writing and wonderful photographs.
Great capture for the challenge!
Thank you Fergie!
the second picture is so cool!
Downtown LA is so cool! Love to think what you would do with it Joshi!
