We did have a rather hellish day what with blizzards, snowstorms, road closures and detours. This was very much the light at the end of a long, dark tunnel which we were very happy to follow. And no, you are not a dork!
this could be either an opening or closing scene to a movie….who is in that car? why are they driving there at this moment? what has happened? what will happen…..
thanks for sharing this beautiful, adventurous moment 🙂
This is a wonderful photograph. It would make a fantastic poster. There’s something mesmerising about it. The car almost looks as if it’s slightly lifting off the ground.
Glorious. Reminded me that for us to head home, all we need is follow the guiding light. I too would like to revisit San Francisco one day. Beautiful photo my friend. Love how the road simply glowed!
We were so pleased to see that light after being stuck in driving blizzards for most of the day! Do hope you get to enjoy SF again soon and thank you so much for enjoying the glow!
Thank you! I know how you feel but that light was the brightest we had in front of us all day after the driving snow etc. It lead us all the way to a nice cosy bar in SF!
Whoa! Beautiful! Entering into the light —
Did you ever see the film The Incredible Lightness of Being?
It ends (tragically, unlike yours!) with a scene that’s similar in mood, if not effect.
I haven’t seen that film but I shall definitely put it on my list – you have piqued my curiosity, thank you! It was so strange that our only bright light of that day came with the end of the day.
Gorgeous sunset shot. This just proves you don’t have to be on a scenic overlook or by a lake or ocean to get a great sunset shot. The sun sets along our interstate in this same way. I need to keep my camera in the car and try to capture a similar shot. Love this.
Can’t wait to see what you do with your interstate sunset shot! I was so excited to read your comment re-the scenic vista when the fun is finding the extraordinary in the ordinary. Or at least trying to!
Really cool photo. That car in the lower middle with the sunlight cast upon it. That part of the photo just doesn’t look real – almost like it was painted into the photo.
Thank you! It was a surreal twilight moment because of the long day trapped in blizzards, almost as though we had been trapped in a Coen brothers’ film! As for the photo itself I would love to have the tools and skills but alas, sadly lacking . . .
It looks like the car is driving into heaven (into the light.) Yes, I’m a dork.
It’s very pretty.

The car driving into the sunset… nice!
Thank you Cecelia!

Now you have me in suspense with these questions! So many possibilities . . . thanks for enjoying the adventure!

Thank you! It almost felt as though we were entering The Twilight Zone after the day we had endured!

I absolutely hate driving into that sort of light – highlights every imperfection on the windscreen 😦 Nice shot Patti 🙂

There is no such thing as an unappealing sunset!
That’s for sure!

A wonderfully suspenseful sunset!
Thank you Theresa!
Wow! This is fabulous! It’s like the sun’s pouring through! 🙂
Thank you Val! Wouldn’t it be lovely to bottle just a little!

Sunsets are fantastic and this is no exception. I’m glad you were able to catch it, so we can have the pleasure of seeing it. Thanks, Patti.
Thank you so much Pie and a pleasure to share! Honestly, it was the brightest spot in what was a long day of trials and many tribulations.
Awesome! Sultry and ominous. One of many great shots on your lovely blog. Just randomly popped in, but will be stopping by again for sure…
So sweet of you to say, thank you! Love your economy of scale on your blog posts!
A stunning sunset shot!
And thank you so much for visiting my blog!
Always a pleasure and thank you so much for your comment!
