geez pk, let’s hang out some reasonable comment on the clothesline – that’s a horrible pic – It’s a dark and cold citiscape full of shadow and menace and it looks unliveable – there is nobody home in the tower blocks. The air looks to full of chemicals frrom the stacks, just two small lights in the shack by the river.
Now, that is one window view I would like to have. I didn’t even notice the dirt( is there?)because all I saw was the beautiful scenery beyond the glass. The like the effect of the ice on top of the window. great photo. Thanks for the Blog visit.
Oh thats beautiful! I love that it’s through a window! I actually took some of mine through a paned window too, but they weren’t as clear. (Camera wanted to focus on the smudges instead). 🙂
I know what you mean about those pesky smudges! It is all such a matter of trial and error, isn’t it? Plus sky views change so quickly. All adds to the fun!
Love your take, thank you so much!
New York grime is so special that still, somehow, the sun always comes through in it’s own way. It is not always pretty, but, it makes it whatever we want it to be!
Thank you! The view is definitely worth getting up early for if only because of the possibility of the unexpected. As cold as it was, I truly never expected to see the windows edged in icicles!
Pretty and the ice makes it even better. Thanks for stopping by my blog! 😀
Thank you so much. Love your blog, those little slices go a long way!
Thanks Patti for stopping by my blog!! They sure do! and Your welcome!
Words fail me. Just glorious. xx
Gee, thanks Gaynor! It doesn’t really feel that long ago and it will always be here for you. Any time!
That is an amazing shot!!!
Thank you so much! Hope you are enjoying your w/end with some more fantastic fireworks. Am signing up for more of yours!
Oh, gorgeous shot!! I love how the window (and icicles) frames the whole city skyline! 🙂
Thank you so much. It felt like the never ending winter!
What a nice picture, I love the ice. Really makes it feel like winter!
Thank you! We thought it might be winter forever, it was such a long one this year!

It looks like a chinese city in 1962
– good effort
pete
Thanks for the comment Pete but all the fun is on the inside! You should see my view of Shanghai, circa 1962, in the daylight . . .
I like your sky picture. Nice view.
Thank you Connie!

Thank you so much for the comp and yes, it is a lovely view – even if it does look like a Chinese city circa 1962! Which still has me cracked up!
Will be visiting your blog again, with pleasure!
Great photo and looks cold.
It was so cold for so long but I never expected icicles!
Thank you for sharing the view!
Nicely done. Love how the ice on one side is balanced by the stacks on the other.
Thank you Derrick. I tend to think of it as sunrise over the Soviet!
Gorgeous!
Thank you Loren, it is a very restful view, although not as “restful” as yours are!
The bits of snow adds character and a certain melancholy to this totally amazing picture!
Thank you LFR! It took this winter for me to understand why so many from here re-locate to Florida!

I like how all the elements come together: ice, sun, water and the chimneys smoke.
Oooh, I hadn’t thought of that, thank you so much!
Dirty window provides the final touch!
New York grime is very special!!!!!
Love your take, thank you so much!

What a spectacular photo!
I LOVE how you’ve framed this shot with that ice… spectacular!
And what a sky! Awesome!
