Again Patti, I love New York! It rocks! Margie

    • February 20, 2012

Margie, not long to go until it rocks for you!

Hi Patti – hard to choose my fave. Obedient models or clandestine snapping? Zita

    • February 20, 2012

Hey Zita, great to see you here! Try as I might for the more clandestine snap the whole business of wearing fashion is not one for the shrinking violet!

  3. February 15, 2012

    Awesome shots Patti!

Thank you Nelson. See yourself in any of these outfits?

Great pics, Patti. The girl in the blue with the funky boots: was she freakishly tall, or was her friend very short?

    • February 20, 2012

They were so sweet and such fun, I want to go and work with La Carmina!(short) and the fabulous Yukiro (tall)!

  5. February 15, 2012

    Great photographs Patti!

  6. February 15, 2012

Great captures!! I love that fur coat on the first photo!

  7. February 15, 2012

I think I’d better stay out of New York. I’d probably get my little country girl butt kicked for laughing at people. That photo, second from the last has me cracking up. LOL. I guess whatever toots your horn. Thanks for the chuckles.

    • February 20, 2012

Hey Orples, your little country girl butt would have a ball up here in NYC where there is indeed room for everyone!

I was staggered to learn that the twice yearly fashion week is expected to generate $865 million for the city this year. But for me, the confidence and imagination (I am severely lacking in both!) it takes to put together some of these outfits, and leave the house in them, is priceless!

      • February 20, 2012

I don’t think I could last in the city long. I’d have to make it a short trip. I’d rather be running barefoot across an open field than worrying about what somebody else is wearing. But variety makes the world go round, so to each their own. ;)

        • February 20, 2012

Now that barefoot running across an open field is truly priceless! :)

  8. February 16, 2012

    stylish!

  9. February 16, 2012

I gave up on being fashionable in my teens… Actually, probably before that! An interesting set of photos. I like the Jacket and light coloured trousers in the second shot but that scarf is way too long ;-) Nice portrait of the guy with the shades in the 5th shot :-) Good set altogether anyhow :-)

    • February 20, 2012

Martin, I hadn’t noticed the length of the scarf but your keen eye, and good taste, seems to suggest a lingering sense for timeless fashion!

  10. February 17, 2012

and maybe some of them are listening to

  11. February 17, 2012

IMG_0268 – once we stood there too – and listened then to some life street musicians at the Columbus circle – I believe the name of the group was THE FUGEES …

    • February 20, 2012

Wow, the Fugees! I imagine they must have been rather entertaining!

  12. February 18, 2012

The girl in blue would fit in at Burning Man really well.

    • February 20, 2012

Connie, does this mean you have been to Burning Man? If so, I should love to hear all about it!

  13. February 20, 2012

Your photos show a wonderful sense of timing and humor. I love that you captured personality as well as individual styles!

    • February 23, 2012

Thank you very much and I am so happy you appreciate the personality and individual style. The surprises, each and every one of them wonderful, never seemed to stop!

  14. February 20, 2012

    So cool!
Sadly I fell off the runway many years ago.
Although I guess I’d have to actually be on it to fall off it!
*If I ever see Tim Gunn I’ll have to hide in shame…* :)

    • February 23, 2012

I am sure you have plenty of your own style and if ever Tim Gunn were to see what you can do with some leather and lace, well . . .

  15. February 21, 2012

Some beautiful girls there, but their shoes look really uncomfortable!

  16. February 24, 2012

    Great photos! :-)

  17. February 27, 2012

As I watch the photos….the music “I’m to sexy for my….” popped up in my head. Yep, the streets do look like one long interesting cat walk. And look at those pose…striking indeed! I don’t see much of that in Houston except when I’m at the Galleria….have a beautiful day.

    • February 28, 2012

You have picked the perfect soundtrack for this set! Right Said Fred would be truly proud!

  18. March 5, 2012

Haha… This is what I do for a living. I always think it’s cool for the kids to get it out of their system when they are young, dressing up in silly clothes.

    • March 6, 2012

That you do this for a living, wow, now I really do want to know more!

  19. March 10, 2012

    CONTRAST – weekly photo challenge:
is it a great contrast if you are dressed with less effort of styling?
is it possible to have an aura dressed simple?

    • March 11, 2012

Frizz, I am struggling with the CONTRAST challenge this week . . . and yes, yes, to both your interesting queries. More of which to come later, I hope!

  20. April 12, 2012

Right on point with this one Patti!
The pictures only reveal how diverse our fashion tastes really are…

I guess I would probably go with the second picture… :)
For me the look is safe.

    • April 12, 2012

Yes, there is so much diversity out there and I can’t imagine where we would be without it, even if it has passed me by! As safe as the second shot is he does have a certain style and flair which I am so pleased you enjoyed and most probably share!
